Dev Update (June 9, 2023)


Sup you beautiful people! Although a bit later than I was hoping, I'm back again with another update๐Ÿ˜Š

So I was able to render 95% of the new scenes. Yay!! ๐Ÿ˜„

Man I forgot how tendious it is to create renders for scenes ๐Ÿ˜“. There's a scene that literally took me 2 weeks to finish composing and rendering on my PC.. And to top it off, I always end up creating way more images than I originally intended. I finished the other scenes in less than a week each so that was good. But then I wasted about 2 weeks feeling shitty about personal stuff, luckily I'm past that again.

There is only 1 scene left to render for this update, and I'll be doing that this weekend. My main monitor crashed so I'll have to manage with my least favorite secondary monitor for now ๐Ÿ˜“.

Rest assured you can expect v0.4 to be released within the next few days! However I'll be releasing it on my patreon first.

Some other updates:

- I encountered a bug in the save system. My options were to spend 2 weeks fixing it, or disabling the "Load Game" option from the In game menu thus allowing me to be productiive. So I disabled it for now. You can load games from the main menu only. It's a bit tedious but bear with me for now.

- 200+ new renders (Cutscenes and miscillenous)

- Added an objective tracker (Cuz there's nothing more frustrating than not knowing what to do next in a sandbox game). This will especially come in handy for future updates.

- Upgraded the Inventory menu

- Fixed an issue with map screen. The map was supposed to show a little icon beside the location names but always bugged out for whatever reason

- Added new map locations

- Added new settings options for music

- Added new songs

- Added auto save feature

- Major code changes and bug fixes

- And I'll be releasing the new version on more platforms like Mac and linux

Future plan:

- Immediately after releasing this update I will start working on the next one.

- I'll find time to fix the load game issue

- I'll add a Chapter select screen, so that players don't have to replay all the intro dialogues if their save file (for some reason) is incompatible with new versions of the game.

- Being able to save during dialogues. This one is especially tricky, I've gotten it to work several times but at the cost of a lot of bugs and bloating the save file, so I'm taking my time with it.
