Overview:

On one fateful night, you stumble upon a strange cabin in the middle of the woods. You have no recollection as to who you are, or why the hallucinations and voices in your head guided you there. After getting acquainted with the house guests, you realize all is not as it seems, and must uncover the secret behind a series of mysterious events. You must interact with the characters, gain their trust, form relationships, gather clues to uncover the truth, manipulate people, and decide their fates.

The Dialogue System

One thing I like to convey to the player with every line of dialogue is the character's emotions while speaking. I created, and hand-pick face emotes to give the dialogue more weight.



Screen Transitions

I utilize different kinds of transitions depending on the context of the scene/dialogue.
Fading to white, fading to black, dissolve, screen shake, camera panning, zooming, etc. I designed all the transitions myself to closely match how I envisioned the scenes to be.

(The QTE can be skipped with a cheat code)

Music

There are over 50 unique songs in the game, that I made myself in FL Studio.
I highly recommend playing with the music turned on, to experience the game as it was intended.

Story Plan

I've already created a story plan for the entire game. There are 7 Chapters in total.

These are brief story points for all the crucial points of the main story.
Right now, I've completed writing all the dialogue for Chapter 2 and I'm mostly working on just renders per update.
Chapter 2's epilogue is the biggest thing I've ever written, and I can't wait to one day release it.

Chapter 3 will introduce a huge change to the game, and shift the tone from the semi-light-hearted one in Chapter 2 to a much darker one.

I hope I can one day do this full-time so I can fully realize the whole game without cutting corners.

- Game Optimizations. Changed the way assets are loaded into the game, significantly improving the boot up time, especially on Android. Screen transition effects and text scroll speed were tied to the device's framerate which made them display faster or slower than intended on certain devices, this has now been fixed to run at a consistent speed on all devices.

- Integrated the Text Animator Unity Asset to improve the text scrolling feature.

- Reworked the quest system to make it more flexible and maintainable. This would not have been possible without the play mode save Unity Asset I bought from the Unity Asset store with the help of my Patrons, so thanks!

- Modified the character name input screen to be usable for all characters.

- The resolution options in the settings screen now only show resolution settings with a 60Hz refresh rate. Used to display all before.

- The game should now start at a 16:9 aspect ratio on all platforms. This has only been tested on PC and Android

- You can now skip with the Space/Enter key.

- There was an issue with the "if-else" statements in dialogues that messed up the screen transitions and would cause random screen shakes/skips when the "Else" block got executed. It's fixed now.

- Once all available quests are completed, a dialogue will trigger to notify the player.

- When the player hides the dialogue box, the button to unhide the dialogue box is now more obvious.

- Added more background songs.

- Some Dialogue System improvements

- Added a home button to allow the player to quickly travel back to the house without navigating to the map screen.

Aslo, the others I buy keys from here, they do it so that if you buy the full game here at full price, you get a Steam key “for free”. There is also an automatic process for this at itch, where you can see your key in the confirmation after purchase.

I've seen some devs do this as well, but just the ones that it's feasible for.

I don't think this is a feasible option for a small dev like myself.

I buy quite a few keys from small indie developers here. Maybe the phrase “free keys” bothers you? I mean, I only buy the games here for that reason and pay the full price for them.

There is femdom with Charlie
While the game isn't about femdom, it is in the game.
And to make sure I had a good understanding of what Maledom is, I looked it up on the hub, I'm pretty sure my game doesn't qualify for that tag, at least not yet

It is in the current itch.io version of the game.
You should see it if you play through all of the available objectives.
I add tags if they exist in the game and are a prominent reoccurring theme, regardless of whether or not it happens to mc.
However, most of them do or will.

This is why it took me a very long time to add the femdom tag on itch, I had to wait until the scenes with Charlie.

the basement mini game is really unnecessary. trying to click the circles in time and in rythm is ridiculous

Hey!

My original plan was to make Michael pull you out by default, but I liked the idea of giving the player something of a chance (albeit very small) to escape on their own.

It is intentionally very difficult, even for me (I have about an 80% success rate), so instead of a penalty, failing the mini-game resulted in my original idea for the scene.

I plan on increasing the safe zone for the popups to make it less difficult for people who actually wanna retry till they get it right, which is surprisingly a lot of people.

What a game! Great work so far. Quick question, is the box qte in the basement possible!? Maybe it's my phone? I've tried at least fifty times. Any way to slow this down, even a little?

It's possible to pass the box QTE, although because of the difficulty of that specific QTE, you don't necessarily have to.

The easiest way to pass the QTE is by using the cheat code on my subscribestar page, it auto passes all QTEs.

As far as MC impregnating the main female casts, there are currently no plans for that. However, there will be scenes with impregnation in Chapter 3

I updated the android sdk in unity and split the apk into apk+obb files, it'll be included in the next version (0.4.2), hopefully that fixes the install issue you're having

Gets through the part where Anna puts him in the bed, then it gets to a part where he's having a flashback of him driving a car, then he looks over to the passenger's seat and it shows a girl asleep... and that's it. It freezes right there. It doesn't go any further.

Hey!

That's a known issue that sometimes occurs in this version of the game.

It's a bug related to an "if-else" condition in the code. It triggers if you leave the shotgun.

It's been fixed in the current versions I'm working on

Hi, thanks for checking in!

development has been a bit up and down, over the past couple of months as I started working a new and very demanding job. I've already  planned out the story and written 100's of  dialogue lines for the next update, I just gotta render the images.

I did release a mini update on my patreon a while back, but not too worry, I only added about 40 new songs I made (most haven't been used in-game yet) and rendered 1 scene with a few lines so there's not much new content story wise. It's mostly new code and music so I didn't upload it here

Whenever I see a comment like this, it gets me motivated to put in more time into working on the game, so thanks! I will make a huge effort to render a new long scene I've been putting off for quite a while this weekend :)

Thanks.  I got it to run :) I can't do anything once Johnny Cash starts playing. I assume I'm supposed to move around after? I just see this blue icon and a building nearby. I'm really curious to see where this goes.

Did you try using the arrow keys or WASD? So far I've only tried the game on my pc and android so this feedback is great for me!

also here are the controls in case you missed it. I'm working on adding it into the game in a later version:

Controls:

Movement - Arrow Keys / WASD 

Action - E 

Skip Text - Left mouse button / Space

I'm glad it's helpful :) I tried again and WASD/arrows didn't work so I finally tried the arrows under the "Num lock" and that worked. Now I can use the standard controls as well for movement. I'm not sure why that fixes it but I'm glad it's working.

Anyway, I look forward to playing more. The visuals are really good. I like the green lighting on the bad guy in the first scene.
